St Paul writing, from a manuscript created at St Gall in Switzerland. One of the earliest Western depictions of St Paul (early 9th Century).

A place to write

Writing is hard work, but it is work that can happen just about anywhere. I love writing in cafés, like many writers, and had a whole blog devoted to just that topic, theinkshot.com. This was decommissioned in December 2021. You are welcome to visit the new blog at marcusbaumgart.com.

Despite the appeal of cafés for writing, sometimes we need somewhere to concentrate, free of distraction and away from everyday life. This might be a place where you can reconnect with the natural world and disconnect from the always-connected tyranny of those tethered devices.

St Gall Writer's Retreat will be that place.

AND if you want to build a writing retreat of your own, contact Marcus Baumgart via email (thewriter@marcusbaumgart.com) or via phone on +614 1834 7024. You can have a chat, and he will happily design you a bespoke retreat of your own for your own site.
